The Town of Gull Lake has some very nice murals on its buildings. For me, the most impressive mural is on the north side of the curling rink, facing the Little Green in Prairie Park.
On the rink, there are four murals depicting our community. Between each mural are three words that serve as a unifying theme and serve as the reason for our community's existence today. These three words, "Building Communities Together," describe how our community came to be and how it will address future challenges.
Our park, theatre, museum, campground, and other important places exist today as a result of people banding together to build them.. Today, boards, committees, and organization operate these facilities. Service Clubs raise funds to assist with a variety of community needs and projects. Economic Development Committee members look for ways to strengthen the local economy. The Heritage Committee works to preserve our community's history, while the Cemetery Committee looks after the appearance of our cemetery.
Problems can become opportunities when the right people come together… Robert South.
Anyone with a positive attitude and a desire to make their community a better place can be the right people. So, if you have a positive attitude and want to give back to your community, look for a group or organization that you believe you can assist.
