Construction of the Richardson Pioneer grain elevator is progressing. The terminal is the third grain storage facility in the vicinity of Gull Lake. The construction has created some economic activity in the area and, once completed, will create new jobs.
The facility, which will have a storage capacity of 46,000 metric tonnes, is expected to be completed this fall. According to a press release from the Richardson Pioneer, the facility will be able to load 175 high cube rail cars. Richardson plans to finish the construction and add a high-speed fertalizer blender and a 10,000-square-foot AWSA certified warehouse by the fall of 2023.
Agriculture plays a significant role in the local economy, so it's great to see this facility being constructed close to Gull Lake.
