Eighty percent of eligible residents in Saskatchewan have reached their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Since the October 1st announcement that residents must show proof of vaccination or a negative test to access a list of establishments, businesses, and event venues, the province has seen a significant increase in vaccinations. Covid-19 vaccination first doses have more than doubled in the last week compared to the week before, representing a 69 percent increase week over week.
Residents are encouraged to continue taking preventative measures such as wearing masks in indoor public spaces, maintaining physical distance, holding gatherings outside, and staying at home if sick. COVID-19 transmission has been known to be prevented using a multi-pronged approach that includes vaccination.
