Statistics Canada released employment data for September 2021 today, showing that Saskatchewan's unemployment rate has decreased to 6.3 percent from 7.1 percent a year ago, and is significantly lower than the national average of 6.9 percent.
When comparing September 2021 to the same month the previous year, Saskatchewan saw an increase of 11,500 jobs. This represents a 2.0 percent increase over the previous year. From August 2021 to August 2022, seasonally adjusted employment increased by 5,300 (+0.9 percent), outpacing the national increase of 0.8 percent.
