Walking trails have grown in popularity in small communities. Urban trails provide a fun and healthy way for locals and tourists alike to enjoy some fresh air and explore their surroundings.
The Gull Lake Recreation Advisory Committee assisted in the development of the Kiaskus Walking Trail in Gull Lake in 2019. The trail was paved thanks to a grant from the "COVID-19 Resilience Stream Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program." The federal government, the provincial government, as well as the town, contributed funds to the program grant.
The trail's paving will make it easier for everyone to enjoy the sights and sounds along Kiaskus Trail. Kiaskus Trail is a 5.1-kilometer lightly trafficked loop trail in Gull Lake that offers a beautiful forest backdrop and is suitable for hikers of all ability levels. The photographs below show some of the newly paved sections of the route.
For $150.00, you can purchase a 10-meter portion of the Kiaskus Trail with a plaque with your name or business on it and contribute to the trail's fundraising efforts. The town is also selling the trail's name rights for $25,000. Visit the Town office to purchase your trail portion.
