Saskatchewan residents will be exempt from the federal carbon tax beginning in 2024.
SaskEnergy and SaskPower will eliminate the federal carbon tax from home heating in Saskatchewan beginning January 1, 2024, benefiting residents who were excluded from the federal government's decision to exempt the carbon price on home heating oil.
This will save the average Saskatchewan family $400 by 2024. SaskPower will eliminate the carbon tax on heating by lowering the federal carbon tax rate rider on their bills by 60%, helping about 30,000 customers and saving them an average of $21 per month during the winter.
